OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN MIXING & MASTERING

Welcome to Mixtasya

Mixtasya.com is a service for mixing & mastering in the field of professional music production. We help you to make your song, your instrumental or just your vocal recording sound great so it can be played on radio, television, internet, CD or on a streaming platform like Spotify and co.

With our knowhow and our equipment we are able to produce best possible results and focus on our customer’s individual requirements, at an affordable price.

In mixing the individually recorded tracks of a song are edited so that they perfectly harmonize musically and technically. The goal is to make the listeners experience as good as possible. Subsequently, in mastering the track gets the right amount of loudness and we make sure that it sounds amazing in different listening setups like for example in the car, on headphones or on a smartphone. Basically in mastering we make the track ready for distribution.

Workflow

How we work

Wave, Aiff, Flac, Mp3 (only if no better quality is available)

We also accept Cubase or Logic project-files. We use many different plugins from UAD, Waves, Softube, Valhalla, Plugin-Alliance etc. Please refer to our detailed plugin-list. If we do not have a certain plugin you used on your project simply provide the track with the plugin on it.

16bit, 24bit, 32bit (float) or also 64bit (float)

44.1 kHz, 48kHz or 96kHz (normally most people work with 44.1 kHz)

If possible please provide dry and wet tracks. For example you send us a vocal track dry (without reverb, delay) and also wet (only the reverb).

If not possible to send dry and wet files it is important to ask yourself if the effect on the track should stay like it is or not. If you are sure that a certain effect artistically has to be in a certain way and should not be changed then simply send the track with the effect on it.

Important tracks like vocals have to be sent without any effects if possible. Otherwise we cannot edit them properly. If possible send reverb, delay and other effects separately (100% wet).

  • No Limiting or dithering on individual tracks or on stereo master track
  • Leave at least 2-3 db headroom, tracks should not have any digital clipping
  • No fades on individual tracks
  • If possible provide named tracks (kick, snare, hi-hat, bass, vocals etc)
  • All tracks have to have the same start and end position

Frequently asked questions

In mixing the individual tracks of a musical recording like instruments or vocals get balanced in volume, frequencies, dynamics and spatial placement. You want all tracks to have the right energy. You do not want anything to be too loud or too soft etc. Also effects like reverb, delay or Auto-Tune are applied. Mastering is the final step to make the record ready for distribution. Only the mixed stereo-track gets mastered. The track gets the right amount of loudness and the engineer makes sure that it sounds as good as possible in many different listening situations.

There is no generally applicable answer to this question. An experienced engineer that knows what he is doing can achieve great results whether he mixes analog or only digital (in the box).
We at mixtasya.com mostly work “hybrid”. That means that all tracks are usually processed with digital plugins first, and after mixed on a SSL mixing console and sent trough an analog mixing-mastering chain with high-end analog mastering gear.
In our humble opinion analog gear brings a really nice character and depth to a master and makes a track sound unique.

Unlike traditional mastering, in which the mastering engineer enhances a single stereo file, stem-mastering combines multiple tracks to create a final master. For example: You send us only the 6 most important tracks of your record: 1. Kick, 2. Snares/claps, 3. Hi-Hats/Percussion, 4. Bass, 5. Instruments, 6. Vocals. The goal is the same: the song should be enhanced and prepared for distribution. However, each approach has pros and cons.
With stem-mastering the mastering engineer can have a bigger influence on the mix. This option is often used if a client is not really happy with the sound of his own mix but does not know how to fix it. With the individual stems the mastering-engineer is flexible to easily correct balance issues and adjust certain instruments separately without affecting the rest of the track.

3 revisions are included in the price. Most of the times this is enough to achieve a great result that everyone loves in the end. More revisions are possible at extra cost of 20 $.

If the communication works well and the client’s vision and needs for the sound are communicated well in the first place and also some reference tracks are provided, it usually does not take more than 3 revisions to finish the project.

MP3-files are compressed files that means that the quality is not high anymore. If possible please do not send any MP3-files. However, if you have no other possibility, we will try to work with what we have and make it sound as good as possible.

Yes, however only once for every new customer. Convince yourself and let us mix/master your song or your instrumental for free. Only if you like the result and want to use our work for a release you pay for it.

Only upon request and for bigger projects from 500 $ up.

It is a form of waveform distortion that occurs when an amplifier is overdriven and attempts to deliver an output voltage or current beyond it’s maximum capability. Driving an amplifier into clipping may cause it to output a badly distorted sound. In other words clipping is often the red light that occurs on a recording track in your DAW or your audio interface. It should be added that clipping can be applied on purpose to achieve a certain sound. Many mixing/mastering engineers are doing it. However there is a difference between a bad digital clipping, which should be avoided at all times, and a nice analog clipping where the signal still sounds good but only has a nice sounding distortion.

Mostly the word clipping is used to describe the negative sounding digital clipping which should be avoided. To avoid it simply make sure that the red lights in your DAW are not showing any possible clipping. Make sure the red lights are off.

Credit card or PayPal. We can also offer bank transfer upon request.

As soon as your tracks and payment arrived we will start with work. At the moment it takes us around 2-10 days until your project is finished. It depends on the overall order situation.
